２枚組み。
ビートルズってゆう会社の中で４人が別々の部署で働いてる。
物語調の曲がおおくて、イギリスの絵本を読んでるような錯覚をした。
ジョンレノンの前衛的な曲と、牧歌のような曲と、子守唄のような曲が好き。
エリッククラプトンとジョージのギターサウンドはすごいなーよく思いついたなあっておもう。
でもギターに関していえば、赤盤のほうがキャッチーでシンプルで好き。
ジョージはストラトを使ってそう。
おれの中で、グレッチの音がジョージの音って決め付けてる。

ビートルズ１０作目のオリジナルアルバム。
ホワイトアルバムと称されるこのアルバムは、ビートルズ唯一の２枚組みアルバム。
真っ白なジャケットのエンボス加工して「The Beatles」と明記されたシンプルなジャケットは
余白を最大限に引き出したデザイン。シンプル、かつ、かなりカッコいいセンスのあるデザインだと思う。
シンプルなジャケットデザインと正反対な音。
メンバーそれぞれの楽曲を詰め込んだ多種多様なロック。
アルバムはトータルコンセプトを重視する自分だが、
これだけ多種多様だと、こういった作品もありだなと思う。
もっと言ってしまうと、ジョン、ポール、リンゴ、ジョージのソロ作品を
「The Beatles」という冠の元に詰め込んだようなアルバムだ。
音は、今聴いても、素直にカッコいいと思う。
ヘビーメタルの前景ともいえるような「ヘルス・スケルター」は
本当にこれがビートルズなのかと思ってしまうほど激しいナンバーには
正直驚いた。どこかできいたと思うけれど、じっくり聴くと、The Whoばりの
ロックの激しさを感じる。
ミュージック・コンクレートと呼ばれる音楽作品「レボリューション９」は、
とても前衛的な音楽。現代美術の展覧会とかにかかっていそうな音楽。
アートと呼べるような楽曲も収められているのが実に面白い。
２枚組みアルバムだと、途中で飽きがくるものがあるが、これは全く違う。
こんなに引きずりこまれる２枚組みアルバムはなかったかもしれない。
