天狗か神か。スケールの違う話ばかりで驚きを通り越して呆れてしまい、最後には笑ってしまった。ポケットマネーでロケット打ち上げてるし。どこのアホがロケットエンジンを3Dプリンタで作ったりするだろうか。オーナーが夜寝ている間にネット経由でテスラのソフトを自動更新しちゃったり、バッテリーをガソリン料金と同等で、しかも９０秒で交換したり、報道では新幹線より速いマッハで移動できるハイパーループ構想も実験段階に入ったし、そもそも火星移住して人類を「多惑星種」とするって意味がわからん。お前はダーウィンか？★５。

At the very beginning, Elon Musk raised one of the most important questions throughout this book with the author: if he is insane or not. Although this book concludes in a different way and "insane" is the word which has to be carefully defined, I'm convinced to say he is insane enough to create the better world. Unlike many entrepreneurs in dot-com bubble around 2000, his purpose of establishing and running the companies is not merely making an IPO and selling them for big money(by the way, I'm not denying these things, they are certainly great to be done). He has founded Zip2, PayPal, Tesla Motors, and SpaceX for saving human beings and put them on track of success thorough his talent, leadership, hardworking life and risk-taking attitude. World definitely needs this kind of person, and he doesn't have to stay sane for achieving what he wants.

シリコンバレーを代表するVCの１つであるDFJのJurvetsonから「Steve JobsとBill Gatesをミックスしてアップグレードしたバージョン」と評され、再上場するPaypalの創業者の一人であり、映画『アイアンマン』のliving modelで、Tesla MotorsとSpace Xの創業者＆経営者であるElon Muskの一族の歴史から現在までを綴った伝記。

人類を救うために、太陽光発電をベースとしたオール電化社会を築き、火星移住を計画、という’60年代のSFの夢の実現を使命とし、一切の妥協を許さない姿勢と、抜群のビジネス・センスとexecution能力。

Paypal上場で稼いだ資金を全てTesla MotorsとSpace Xに注ぎ込んでも破綻しそうになった2008年のクリスマスの危機。

クビにした元社員からも尊敬されるカリスマ性。

Steve Jobsの伝記よりも面白いかも知れません、現在進行形ですが。これも映画化されますね。
