現代的なプログラミング言語に欠かせない技術であるガーベジコレクションについて述べた、数少ない図書の一つである。ガーベジコレクションを主題とする（おそらく唯一の）和書である「ガーベジコレクションのアルゴリズムと実装」と比べると、並列・並行アルゴリズムなどのアドバンストな話題も詳しく扱っているのが特徴である。（電子情報学専攻）
