Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a fiction comedy novel written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney. The story is about a middle-school kid named Gref Heffley who tries to fit in at his school, but usually he does not succeed. If you read this, you might also remember how you struggled in your school days back then.

エンガチョは世界共通だった。
しょうもないことを思いついては周りを巻き込み、失敗に終わってもメゲないその姿はさしずめアメリカンなカツオである。
スラングや慣用表現が多用されているものの、挿し絵で大体の意味もつかめるおかげで読みやすかった。

I read this book after watching the movie in a airplane bound for America. I watched the movie in English without any subtitles to practice English, and I'm used to it.

The book was much funnier than the movie, and it was very easy for reading. I learned a lot of slung from the book. Although the book title says that the main character is wimpy, I don't think he is chicken. I think he is nerd. Maybe nerd relates to wimp in English.

Since I really enjoyed reading it, I bought all series of the book. Now I started reading the sequel of it. Before going back to America, I want to read all of them!
