Mademoiselle Sagan was only 18 when her first debut novel was published; I was very impressed with the result - it is a sophisticated piece of work about a young French girl who lives with her carefree father who happens to even "younger" than his own daughter, in mind-set atleast. He's incredibly immature and the lifestyle he allows for his daughter is not the best choice. An older woman whom the father falls in love with tries to rearrange the father and daughter's lifestyle, for the girl's betterment; but this adjustment isn't taken kindly by our narrator Cecile who wants her hectic lifestyle with her father to continue... the result is tragic, which ends the special bond between father and daughter, since both of them are forced to "grow up" - again, a neat little piece of work!
