原著は、もう角が擦れるくらい読んでいたし、学生時代に読んでいたから、まぁ一応そこそこ読めた。

私は英語はそこまで得意ではないが、概ね原著通りで読みやすいと思った。
英語になったとは言え、突撃隊は突撃隊だったし、やっぱりそこはクスリと来る。
原著のあの物悲しさは、英語を母国語としている訳ではないから、リアルに感じることは出来なかったが、楽しむことは出来た。

中身は、そこまで長いセンテンスが続く訳でもないし、単語自体も難しいものではないと思う！


私が日本人に生まれて良かったと思うこととして、ご飯が美味しい、日本の古典文学や純文学、現代文学は面白いと思うし美しいと思うこと等々あるが…この村上春樹の世界観を日本語でガッツリ楽しめることが、新たに仲間入りした。

this has a similar writing style as camus’ the stranger: a very calm narration of trivial life events, yet very realistic, raw, and well articulated. the characters in both books share this almost uneasy, chilling calmness and steadiness. that is probably what makes the reading of those two books really smooth and effortless, while still being able to catch the tiny details and descriptions of each characters’ emotions, feelings, thoughts, and ideas.
