わかりやすい英語で読みやすかった。
村の人からは差別視され、死ぬほど働いて稼いだ金を数えることが生きがいだったSilasが金を盗まれたかわりに、拾った孤児のEppieに新たな生きがいを見出す話。Eppieが実の親よりSilasを選び、Silasと一緒に暮らそうと言ってくれるAaronと結婚するハッピーエンド。

Silas Marner is a weaver who loves his gold coins he earns. He has no family, no friends. His only friend is his gold. However, one night a thief comes and his gold coins gets all stolen. Actually, after he loses his gold, he gets neighbors who care for him and who he can talk to, and a treasure appears before him.
I really loved how Silas changed his whole life when he found Eppie. Life shines when you live outward. Life is colorful when you live with people you know well. Life is wonderful when you live with your love.

織工のサイラス・マーナ―は発作で意識を失っている間に盗みの汚名を着せられ、人間不信に陥り、故郷を出て、孤児を育てたところから人生は再び良い方へ向かいます。この女の子エピーが本当に可愛くて良い子すぎます。
