I didn’t know he had a big career as an actor besides a standup comedian. I was inspired by the story of his long journey. Also laughed alot!
Since I’ve read many books written by Asian Americans, I’m getting to understand what an identity crisis actually is. In those books, I’ve kept hearing the same sentences, “I’ve always been trying to fit in” and “Go back where you came from”. After I came to America, even I sometimes felt like an outsider and saw myself trying to fit into American culture. America has a lot of deep subjects, and discrimination is just one of them. But I’m also attracted to broad opportunities in America, the American dream, just like jimmy was. In his interview video I watched before, he said the next goal is to cheer other Asians in America and make them look cool, and I will always be rooting for him!
A biography of an immigrant who finally became the famous comedian and actor in US. In addition to his challenges and faced difficulties, we would know how brave he is.
