I want to read the poetry that a French lonely prisoner wrote to his wife from his jail cell. People in Europe remembered St. Valentine from the poet. After this poet was known, the people of Europe began celebration Valentin`s Day.

The people in Ancient Rome could not marry. Because the Roman ruler Claudius 2 needed soldiers. He thought married men would not join his army.

But a priest named Valentine performed weddings in secret. And he was killed because he broke the law on February 14 more than 1700 years ago.

古代ローマ帝国は、征服できる場所が無くなった途端に衰退し始めたけど、軍隊のために結婚が禁じられたと読んで、やっぱり無理を重ねた国造りだったのかなと思った。

カナダやアメリカでは、恋する相手だけじゃなく、身近な友達とかにもカードを送るんだ。
日本でもすでにお歳暮のようなものになりつつある。お菓子業界の利益と結びついていなかったら、とっくに忘れ去られていただろうな。というか日本でのこのイベントがそもそも、利益のために新しい需要を生み出すはじまりだったわ。ロマンとは。
