People who are haunted by their past and are constrained by their past. This book portraits how one moment of misjudgment can change your forever, how one little dirty secret will mend you for life.

David gives away his daughter who have down syndrome out of his traumatic memory of his own sister, who also had the same disease. But the nurse who admired him, took the baby to raise for herself instead of sending her to a institution like David planned. David's wife, unable to get over her daughter's death, is tormented. All, carrying a deep secret of their own, is no longer able to communicate and build a wall around themselves; David's family breaks down piece by piece.

This book is also about trust, human emotions, and how one evolves after deep deep sorrow and despair, how one's feeling change after many years. All that, and I'm sorry to add, how some mistakes will never be forgotten and how some perspectives will never be reviewed.
