Despite the devastating backdrop of the Holocaust, the thoughts articulated in this book bring much wisdom applicable to those of us living in peace. The idea about love giving strength was awe inspiring. On the other hand, the idea about suffering as the opportunity for human development felt too optimistic, even unconvincingly so.
