カナダ短期留学中にトロントのEaton CentreのIndigo Books & Musicにて、以前読んだ春樹作品のなかでも特に好きだった記憶のあるスプートニクの恋人とノルウェイの森を購入。
読んで思ったのは、あれ？こんな話だったっけ？ってこと。
まさかストーリーが変わる事はないでしょうが世界観が…。
なんだかちょっと不思議な恋愛小説という感じで味が消えていた気がする。
訳者であるPhilip Gabrielさんの腕前でしょうか…。原著を再読したくなりました。
ノルウェイの森のほうを今読んでいるのだけど、定評のあるJay Rubinさんの翻訳。記憶のままで嬉しい。

I bought this book at Eaton Centre in Toronto, Canada.
I also bought Norwegian Wood written by Haruki Murakami.
They are the best two books for me of his works.
What I thought when I read this book was is this the same story that I read in the past?
I was shocked how story changes when it is translated!
I want to read this in Japanese again and see the differences.
Now I am reading Norwegian Wood that is the exactly same book I read before.
It is translated by Jay Rubin who is said understanding Haruki's world deeply.
