As a child, I never liked the Secret Garden movie that my mother seemed to love (and watched with me a thousand times). Therefore, going into this book I had a biased opinion of it already.

However, I must confess I loved the book and the garden certainly did captivate me. I am surprised and a bit disappointed in myself for not being able to detest it through and through, but I admit that Burnett really did a great job and it isn't a wonder how her book came to be a classic. Not to mention the three movies made out of it.
