Hideyuki Taura has earned an MA and is currently finishing off his PhD in Applied Linguistics at Macquarie University, Sydney. After being a high school EFL teacher in Osaka for 17 years and a professor of English at Fukui Medical University for four years, he presently holds a position of associate professorship at Kyoto Institute of Technology. His research topics cover bilingualism, second language acquisition, language retention and attrition, cognitive linguistics, and ELT.
