Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Bloomsbury Childrens Books (2014年9月1日発売)
Read in 2021.
Again there were scenes which weren’t included the film, and some characters were better described in the book, Krum, Madam Maxime, Karkaroff, Fudge, and many other characters for example. Krum and Madam Maxime felt more preferable and more humane in the book. But good thing is that they didn’t add any extra characteristics to the characters that were not described in the book. There were just the scenes which could not be included in the film simply because of the time limit and not because they added something unnecessary in the film. So even after reading the book, the film won’t be felt as contradiction to the book.
The most impressive scene was, whether I’m not sure it was inevitable or coincident, the same scene in the film and the book, where Harry determines to fight back Voldemort in the grave yard rather than beg for his mercy or anything. In the film, Daniel thought of breathed hard with his fists holding tight and walk toward to face Voldemort. That scene always makes me admire his courage so much and my heart start racing every time I watch the film, but so did the book. I’m amazed how texts can make me feel exhilarated as if I’m in the scene. It’s maybe because Voldemort was described really well as eerie, scary and really strong character, and also because the pain Harry was going through was described really well with the metaphor. The blood, flesh, and the pain felt real in the book, so that Harry’s determination was made all the more admirable.
