Basically theorizes the process of modernization. It focuses on the role of institutions, revolutions and reformations. Each content includes several case studies, which is always helpful for further understanding. However, the contents on the reformation is too concentrated on "land reform", which makes the whole chapter quite dull (particularly when land reform has less relevance to your study).
