It's a story of Alan, who just became 100 years old and "climbed out the window" before his birthday party at his nursing home. Stories go back and forth his current and past by meeting various historical events in the world.

It was funny at the beginning and tedious later. I also thought that it was a bit long.. but hey, it is after all a story of 100-year-old man. It definitely reminded me to live life fully though, I guess I expected too much from the title.
