French amateur mathmatician, Pierre de Fermat left in 1637 something that had rejected any challenges of mathmaticians untill finally proved in 1994.
Fermat's Theorem is an expanded form of pythagorean theorem that defines lengths of sides of right-angled triangle. When lengths of shorter sides are 3 and 5, the side left has length of 5. In other words sum of side lengths squared equals the rest length squared.
Fermat's theorem states that there is no whole number solution when lengths are powered by 3 or larger in above equation instead of being squared.
It was a long story of mathmaticians who challenged, failed, made progress and finally done.
The final proof was 130 pages long manuscript. This is made by so many people's effort and devotion over so many years. Finally one guy, Andrew Wiles of Princeto University finalized his historical proof.
It was interesting the theorem was proved by proving Taniyama Shimura Conjecture which was coined by Japanese guys. So it took 39 years to prove Taniyama Shimura Conjecture. What we've got now is built on centuries of peoples efforts really.詳細をみるコメント0件をすべて表示
