I've read it to prepare the coming English presentations. It is written in easy English. But there are relatively many examples interpolated, that prevents me from focusing on one topic. The phrases that I was impressed with are as follows. 'Why should your customers care about your product?' 'Sell dreams, not products.'

　英語でのプレゼンテーションを簡潔に，分かりやすくすると言う観点から，参考になるところが多い作品だと思います。Jobsのプレゼンテーションのやり方にシフトしているところは，なかなか応用しにくいところはあるのかなとは思いますが，自分のプレゼンテーションを分かりやすくするにはどうしたらいいか? という視点から読み進めると，いろいろと得られるものも多いと思います。英語でのプレゼンテーションだけではなく，日本語でのプレゼンテーションにも活用できる項目は多いのではないでしょうか。
　そして，やっぱり大切なのは，事前準備をきちんとすることと，練習をきちんとしておくこと。あとはどれだけ事前準備をしていても起こり得る不測の事態にどうするか。という心構えでしょうか。

上司の英語プレゼン用スクリプトを書いていた際、ボキャブラリーが欠乏し、藁をもつかむ思いで手に入れた本。もう１年以上前の話だ。実際に上司が習得した表現は”let’s get started”だけだが、とても参考になった。本を読んで特に感動したのは、わかりやすい表現の数々もさることながら、スティーブジョブズのプレゼンテーションにかける熱意と努力だった。当時感動さめやらぬ中、この本の内容をサマって上司に参考資料として渡した。

一年経った今も上司の英語プレゼン改善活動は続いている。数週間前もイマイチなプレゼンが行われた。何が悪かったのか振り返る時に、久しぶりにこの本に目を通した。答えは、メッセージだった。聞き手に訴えるメッセージがないため、ただの資料説明になってしまっていたのだ。

スティーブジョブズのプレゼンテーションを新たにもう見られないのはとても残念だ。

原書を読みたいが、英語力に自信がないので、
多読で鍛えているところ。

名言だと思う。

「・・・死はおそらく生が生んだ唯一無比の、最高の発明品だからです。それは生のチェンジエージェント、要するに古きものを一掃して新しきものに道筋を作っていく働きのあるものなんです。
今この瞬間、新しきものと言ったらそれは他ならぬ君たちのことだ。
しかしいつか遠くない将来、その君たちもだんだん古きものになっていって一掃される日が来る。とてもドラマチックな言い草で申し訳ないけれど、でもそれが紛れもない真実なんです。

　君たちの時間は限られている。だから自分以外の他の誰かの人生を生きて無駄にする暇なんかない。ドグマという罠に、絡め取られてはいけない。それは他の人たちの考え方が生んだ結果とともに生きていくということだからね。

Act1,2の内容はガー・レイノルズの「プレゼンテーションZen」に書かれているようなこととそう変わらないように感じた。Act3 "Refine and Rehearse"が印象的。練習すること、本番での心構えについて。
